Vols Extend Win Streak Over Kentucky to Send Fulmer Out a Winner

As Phillip Fulmer exited the field for the last time as Tennessee coach, fans chanted his name, the game ball was thrust into his hands and he was hoisted to the shoulders of his players.
Fulmer would have preferred not to be saying goodbye, but at least he got a send-off he’ll never forget.
“We’ve had a great run. I wasn’t really ready for it to end, but it probably ended as well as it could,” said Fulmer, who after 17 years with the Vols is being pushed out of his job.
Tennessee gave him …

Vols Fall on Homecoming to Wyoming

Tennessee couldn’t even beat heavy underdog Wyoming for outgoing coach Phillip Fulmer — on homecoming day no less.
In his first game since being forced to resign at the end of the season, Fulmer could only watch as Ward Dobbs returned an interception 24 yards to lead Wyoming to a 13-7 win over the Volunteers on Saturday.
Wyoming came in a nearly four-touchdown underdog, the lowest scoring team in major college football and languishing near the bottom of the Mountain West Conference.
It seemed like a perfect opportunity for a homecoming pick-me-up for …
