Call Out to All Cincy Vols and UT Fans

29 August 2007 2 Comments

The chapter officers have gone through a shake up recently. There may be positions open for those interested in participating.

The first order of buisness would be to decide on some TV parties. For those of you not familiar with the CV TV parties, in the past we have met up at Rick`s Tavern in Fairfield for three games a year.

I would like to hear from all of you to decide not only which games you would like to meet for, but also if we need a change of venue (Ricks may be too far for most folks).

We could move it a little more centralized, like Mulligans in Hyde Park. Please offer any suggestions for bars/taverns/restaurants that you know of and would be able to accomodate maybe up to 50 people.

The second reason for this article is to ask for ideas about the Chapter as a whole. Are there any other events members would be interested in? Maybe golf outings, dinners, etc. How about some comments, concerns, or ideas about other Chapter realted issues like emails, the website, etc.

Please offer any feedback to my email when you get time. I want to pull all of the UT fans and alumni together over the next few years and make us one of the best around.

I currently live in Symmes Township and know of a few good places to watch games. That’s probably not convenient for everyone though so I guess it depends on where the majority of people live. I know right now, the UTAA site has viewing parties in Cincinnati listed at Blackfinn and Suite Bar
(used to be McFadden’s). I’m not sure if that has anything to do with this Chapter or not, but it’s up there! Are there any plans for TV parties for the rest of the season (Wyoming, Vandy, UK)?

I graduated from UT a year ago so I’m new to the group and don’t know what you’ve done in the past but chartering a bus and going down to Knoxville for a football or basketball game could be fun. Or going to an away game that’s close to us (really Lexington is the only one).

    Just some thoughts!

I don’t know about any football games cuz let’s face it…they aren’t worth watching this year. But what about basketball? I would be interested in gathering to watch the Vols play a little hoops. I’m in the Loveland/Milford area and know of a few other Vol fans that would be interested in getting together. If anyone is interested, lets look at the schedule and make some plans.
